EVALUATIONS
"Mr. Salyers had established fantastic rapport with his students. This was particularly evident with this 5th grade class. He relates the musical information in a most professional manner yet at the same time is able to have a great age-appropriate sense of humor with the students. . . . It was most noticeable that all the students were having fun and were very eager to participate."
-from Informal (Unannounced) 5th Grade Observation "You provided clear, direct instruction during your lesson. Students were guided through the instructional portion of your lesson by the use of modeling and call and repeat. Both of these strategies helps to provide a multi-sensory model of a skill or concept. They also allow for students to make meaningful cognitive connections." -from Kindergarten Observation "Mr. Salyers planned and executed a lesson that was sequential, developmentally appropriate and engaging. He remained focused on the above objective, and his students achieved it. This was not an easy objective to achieve, yet his planning, prior preparation, effort, and enthusiasm made it happen." -from Informal (Unannounced) 4th Grade Observation "The climate, design and tone of your room encouraged work, confidence and support for learning. He asked the students to identify some of the musical terms that they might include in their writing piece, i.e. forte, piano, staccato, legato etc. Students seemed quite comfortable discussing these terms and actually seemed to be excited about the up and coming writing piece. This was wonderful to observe since one of our AIP goals is for elaborating in writing. Great job." -from Informal (Unannounced) 3rd Grade Observation "The lesson had clear expectations and students exhibited a high level of engagement throughout the lesson.
